Anton Lord - Short Biography
Based in Perth, he brings more than 8 years of extended DJ, music and nightclub experience to the dancefloor. His talents have seen him work bars, clubs and shows across Perth, Sydney and beyond.
With house music his preferred tool (he cites Roger Sanchez as one of his main influences), his sets range from chilled Sunday summer grooves through to epic vocals and tribal tinges. Anton is also equally at home with the nu school breaks sound preferring fat basslines and fuzzy chunks. With his sets sometimes stretching to 8 hours they are nothing short of legendary.

From an early age he developed a keen interest in instrumental music (piano, bass) and the technical aspects of audio (his father is an AFI award-winning audio post production mixer for ABC television) - the house / dance sound became a natural progression and many evenings were soon spent out at Perth's growing nightclub scene.
A chance meeting with a friend (and DJ) at a local party (where he had been setting up the PA and supplying the basic mix tapes) saw the suggestion that he give live DJing a try. Anton was soon a fixture on the local party circuit cementing his talents by running the local PA hire shop.
In short time he proved himself popular with the crowds and he changed from playing regular house parties to bars & clubs around town. Early work included gigs at The LeftBank, Continental Hotel, CBV, Metropolis Sky Bar, Subiaco Hotel and the Cottesloe Beach Hotel.
During the late 90’s he sensed Claremont’s slow acceptance of the changing music scene and began looking for more rewarding upfront work further afield.
He was offered the chance to become co-resident at the Leederville Hotel on Wednesday & Sundays following the departure of main man Darren Brias to Queensland.
Along side Matt Harris the Leederville experienced one of the largest summers on record with capacity crowds - even today it is still regarded as being one of the best eras in Perth clubland. Here he was exposed to many local, national and international DJs including Garry James, Simon Barwood, Dirty Den, Dave Jackson, Rudy, Andy Glitre, Groove Terminator, Boy George and Judge Jules to name a few.
At the end of summer that Anton joined the new, and as yet, unheard of Sapphire Bar in Subiaco as the resident DJ on both nights. This partnership of fresh sounds and a new, undiscovered venue soon saw Sapphire reach unprecedented heights of popularity setting the new benchmark for Subiaco and beyond.
Almost 6 years later Anton remains at the helm of Sapphire (now as part of the management team as well as resident DJ) with consistently packed dancefloors - a testament to its ongoing style and popularity.
Time outside of clubs was also spent working on the radio with his appointment as production manager and regular host on Perth's (sadly now defunct) dance radio station LiquidFM.
He (and co-host Adam Kelly) can currently be heard on GrooveFM's new house radio show "In Da House" every Friday night from 10pm.
Weekends have also seen Anton play at the Cottesloe Beach Hotel (holder of the biggest Sunday Session in Australia) and at Perth hot-spots such as Kuppa 2am, Geisha and more.
Few will also forget his time as co-host of the annual "Meltdown" parties hosted around the beach side suburb of Swanbourne.
Anton has been featured on Pump100 as part of the Meltdown shows, Channel [V] during Perth Fashion Week and has a pending appearance on the national broadcaster, JJJ. 2005 sees Anton's exposure continue as he joins the lineup for large shows such as TwoTribes and Ministry of Sound.
When not DJing or running a club he's likely to be found working in his Pro Tools studio or working on various IT projects.
Noted for his trademark shirts, ego-less attitude and tireless attention to detail Anton has left an indelible mark on the Perth music scene.
